A Nod to Christmas Past

If you’re like us, then you’ve been singing Christmas carols since Thanksgiving! So of course, when it comes time to decorate for the season, we are no less excited than we are when the music starts playing on the radio. This year, we have been noticing how vintage Christmas decorations are becoming more and more popular, and we are so excited!

Here are a few of our very favorite ideas:

One idea that feels very nostalgic that we love is this use of mason jars to create small vintage scenes. We love the way that this idea reminds us of old snow globes. Also, having a grouping of a few different versions is extremely fun and festive.

Another idea that we love is to frame vintage prints, like this one, and swap out some of your regular pictures. We love this vintage picture, which exudes Christmas cheer!

We also love this Christmas vignette- the use of all white feels fresh and very wintery to us! We especially love the way that they used a vintage silver tray that they had on hand to add shine and glamour. Also, the vintage house is a pretty way to add Christmas cheer in a subtle way.

Finally, of course we love vintage ornaments. Some of our favorite wreaths that we have seen are encrusted in vintage ornaments in different colors and shapes – so fun! You could also easily mix in some new ornaments with the vintage ones to create a piece as well.

Another great way to showcase your vintage ornaments is by using brightly colored ornaments on a white tree! We love the way that this one really allows the fun, bright colors of the ornaments to really shine.

We love all of these nods to Christmases that came before us! All of us from Red Egg Design Group wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
